Ah, another miserable day at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. Ha! What a stupid name! That makes Hogwarts actually sound worth while, like a school you should attend. Everyone knows Hogwarts has really gone to the dogs. It's pathetic. With that stupid oaf of a headmaster Dumbledore running things, you're sure to have a school as disastrous as this one right here. Draco sighed, these thoughts constantly fluttered and cluttered his mind. Why did his father send him back here? He promised Draco he'd send him far away, to the best school in the galaxy. His father also promised to write him, and that hadn't happened yet either. Why wouldn't he write? Draco took some time everyday to write him nice letters, always signing them with loves and butterfly kisses. And yet, he got nothing in return except disappointment, and on occasion a hug from Hedwig. That bird really knows how to make a twelve year old boy feel better, though why it can talk is still a mystery.
Kicking his legs up in the air, Draco pulled out a piece of paper from his robes, along with a several crayons to choose from. He wasn't writing his father this time, though he had thought about it. No, he was practicing his drawing skills. In Potion's Class, stupid Potter thought he had he right to insult the way Draco draws. And you know that nobody makes fun of Draco Malfoy, especially his pictures. Pathetic Potter will pay for that. With a grumble under his breath, Draco sorted through the crayons and picked up the blue one, using it to shade in the sky. Right now he was drawing something new for Potter, something he'd be sure to admire this time around. It was him, in the air on his broom, getting kicked in the face by Draco. And he was hanging on for dear life, his eyes dripping with tears and his face all crunched up into some sort of weird frown. "Ha! This'll teach stupid Potter not to mess with a Malfoy." He sneered at the almost finished drawing, holding it up to meet the afternoon sunlight. It was nearly perfect.
And now, onto unfinished drawing number two! This one was a bit more private, so Draco scooted closer to the piece of paper, making sure no one could see it if they walked by. Unrolling it, he couldn't help but smile a little at the figures sketched side by side. Draco's eyes were so happy, full of joy and laughter. And Hermione's eyes, well, they were just always beautiful weren't they? Not that Draco liked her or anything, I mean, that would be stupid. She's a little mudblood who's friends with Potter and the Ginger! Ha! It's not like Draco Malfoy could ever have feelings for that Hermione Granger, could he? His head would often argue with his heart on the matter, he knew they could never be together. But would that stop him from trying? Of course not! Not only did it piss the Weasel off, but it made him look like an okay guy. And maybe, just maybe, if Draco looked like an okay guy, then Potter would finally wise up and be his friend. And if Potter became his friend, then maybe Draco's father would finally write him back.
Yes, it was all a big plan. His feelings for her were just a small, trivial element in a grander scheme of acceptance and respect. Or so he liked to believe anyways. He would never admit to anyone that she was the prettiest girl in school. Even with her bushy hair and frumpy clothes and terrible blood status. "Draco, wake up!" He shook his head violently, returning his attention to the drawing at hand. It was of Hermione and his first date. Seated at a table for two with some very tasty looking food made by that stupid house elf Dobby. It was a sight that nearly moved Draco to tears. They weren't on Mars, not yet anyways, but they would be soon. And they would go to Pigfarts together, and ride around on Rumbleroar's back as they toured the galaxy together, hand in hand. Sigh.
